Cho-Yung Tea

I’ve always been a fan of Green Tea so when I had the chance to try Cho-Yung Tea there was no stopping me! Now I know this isn’t quite along the lines of most BeautyBoost coverage but I think we all want to feel better about ourselves and healthy and clean eating and living has become a way of life for me now so I thought I would share my experience of this!

Cho-Yung Tea, £39.99 for 30 teabags from Holland & Barrett stores nationwide and online at www.choyungtea.com

Cho-Yung tea is based on a 400 year old Chinese recipe and enriched with antioxidant to help people lose weight gradually and naturally.

Already a favorite with celebrities including Danielle Lineker, Cho Yung Tea is an internet hit with more than 240,000 online customers in the last 16 months alone. Dieters simply drink two cups per day, as well as following a healthy eating plan and taking moderate exercise, to help them speed up their weight loss and achieve their weight goals. Priced £39.99 for a two week supply of individual 30 tea bags.

I really liked the taste of this tea, it was light and refreshing and I actually found myself wanting more than just the advised 2 cups a day! But I stuck with it and I think this is a great addition to add into your healthy lifestyle. I personally like to go to the gym at least 4-5 times a week and eat as cleanly as possible so I think the benefits of those alone are going to show a difference. But I did feel that the tea was a great addition at breakfast (where I also always have a pint of water and porridge or Kallo Organic Puffed Rice cereal) and also in the evening and I noticed an improvement in how lean I felt. I also think my skin looked better too - added bonus!

What teas/health drinks do you use?

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula

I’ve been a fan of Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula range for a while now but had yet to try some of their options for firming. They’ve also started a range of facial skincare products that I was also keen to check out - here’s a selection of what I’ve been using lately.

Firming Butter - this is designed for post-pregnancy and weight loss and is packed with the goodness of Cocoa Butter, Elastin, Collagen, Vitamin E and Shea Butter to tighten and tone the skin. It’s a lovely light consistency and absorbs quickly into the skin without feeling greasy or heavy. I really loved using this and it left my skin feeling well moisturised and the texture and tone has definitely improved in the few weeks I have been using it. I’m pretty active and go to the gym at least 4 times a week (which is always going to help if you’re looking to really tone up) but I think it deserves praise for improving the appearance and feel of my skin too!

Body Gloss - I loved using this for night’s out as it’s a much thicker, richer consistency leaving skin feeling ultra nourished and the subtle shimmer in this looks amazing and works really well at highlighting areas you want to draw more attention too (yes please legs, arms, shoulders, collarbone, decolletage!)

Bust cream - Wahey! This is one I’m sure all partners would be more than happy to help apply for you! Right, now the obvious is out the way - It’s advised you use this twice a day but due to my rather haphazard freelance life I only ever seem to get to use this in the mornings! It is fab though and again a thicker, richer feeling cream which is lovely to use but I think needs more thorough use before I can really comment!

Last but by no means least…

Line smoothing eye cream - Now this is something I have been really impressed by! As I’m scarily close to leaving my 20s behind me I have been more aware of taking care of my skin and trying to keep it looking as good as possible. I’d started to notice more fine lines around my eyes so was after something that would fend off any more of the little blighters from getting to me! This cream is brilliant! It’s lovely and light but a little goes a long way. I’ve used it morning and evening for 2 weeks and I feel like those lines that bothered me before aren’t as noticeable and generally my eye area looks much brighter and less dull than before. I have been making more of an effort to drink more water and green tea though and as always I really recommend trying to cut out as much processed junk as possible as your skin (and body generally) will thank you for it by looking much better in return! But credit where it’s due I really think this a brilliant product and have been singing its praises to anyone who’ll let me harp on about it!

So there you have it - some excellent ‘solution’ products for you to take stock of and maybe try for yourself - which one stands out for you?

Divine Decleor!

Happy Friday BeautyBoosters! We’ve made it - the weekend is here!

This week I’ve been discovering the delights of the divine Decleor range - it’s all part of
my good skin quest which started recently with the Manuka Doctor Apiclear range in my previous post.

I’ve been using the following products:

HARMONIE CALM – SOOTHING MILKY CREAM - This high-tolerance day cream with a silky and melting texture is specially formulated for normal to dry sensitive skin. It acts on the skin like a caress to help:

  • ·      soothe and calm feelings of discomfort and redness by addressing the source of skin’s fragility (Essential Milk of Rose, Extracts of White Birch Bark)
  • ·       nourish and protect the skin from irritants by strengthening its protective barrier (Lacto Calm Complex: Essential Milks of Cotton and Lily, Concentrated Rose Water, Cotton Lipids, Pine and Grape Polyphenols)
  • ·       reduce the signs of reactivity by helping to reinforce skin’s tolerance levels (Extract of Green Macatia) Your skin is left feeling soft, supple and infinitely comfortable.

I am IN LOVE with this day cream - the scent smells beautiful and the texture feels luxuriously creamy but light - like stroking a feather on your face! I’ve been taking my time when applying this as it’s such an enjoyable experience every time I open it up! Previous to using this my skin has been a little troubled but this delicate formula really felt like it was caressing and soothing any problems I had and I’m delighted with the results after just a week!

AROMESSENCE™ YLANG YLANG - Purifying Serum - A naturally powered Super Serum containing both Essential Oils and Plant Oils specially formulated for the daily care of oily and combination skin. The Essential Oils purify the epidermis, reducing excess sebum and closing the pores. It is a real efficiency booster for the AROMAPURETÉ Shine Control Oxygenating Fluid.

This smells absolutely HEAVENLY and despite my reservations of using this oil serum on my combination skin I was really surprised to see how well I responded to it. My skin looked fresher and pores are definitely less visible after just a week - it’s advised you use 2 drops and apply the Decleor acupressure method over the entire face (I might have skipped this part but I’m still noticing the benefits!)

AROMA PURETÉ IMPERFECTIONS ROLL’ON - A roller ball treatment that cleanses the skin and quickly reduces the appearance of blemishes and imperfections. The refreshing gel formulation soothes the skin whilst delivering a concentrated blend of Essential Oils to leave skin purified and clean.

This is my favourite ‘can’t live without’ wonder product in my battle against blemishes! I bow down to its magical powers it’s that good! The scent of essential oils is so lovely and doesn’t have that ‘medical’ fragrance that can be a bit off putting with some treatments of this kind. it dries quickly leaving no residue and within an hour I noticed that any red or blemished areas appeared reduced and the next day my skin was    looking the clearest it’s been in months. I just can’t praise this enough - so happy to have been able to experience its benefits first hand.

I still have to try my AROMESSENCE™ ANGÉLIQUE and AROMESSENCE™ IRIS but if the other products are anything to go by I know I won’t be disappointed.

What are your favourite ‘good skin’ products?

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! x

Manuka Doctor Apiclear range

Hi BeautyBoosters!

Today I wanted to cover the Manuka Doctor Apiclear range. Unfortunately my skin has been having a bit of a meltdown the past few weeks (coming off the pill, diet changes and a little emotional stress - fun! - note the sarcasm), so understandably I have been looking for something to clear it up and get it back on track. I was doing some research and noticed my reality girl crush Millie Mackintosh singing the praises of the Manuka Doctor Apiclear range - reason enough for me to be intrigued!  These products are packed with Purified Bee Venom which is renowned for its anti-bacterial, anti-wrinkle and regenerating properties and UMF 18+ Manuka Honey which is unique to New Zealand and known for its anti-bacterial benefits.

I have been using the following products for the past couple of weeks. It’s also worth noting that due to the ingredients they advise you do a patch test before going full steam ahead and using everything as some people may be allergic. I think this is a pretty good thing to do anyway when trying new products as you never know how your skin will react and you don’t want to make it worse if it’s already flaring up.

Foaming Cleanser - this feels super creamy but doesn’t overly ‘lather’ up (I was being quite sparing with the amount I used each time though). I liked the scent of this, some people might find it a bit medical but it felt zingy (there’s that bee venom kicking in) on application. However, my skin didn’t feel tight or too stripped of moisture after using it. Avoid the eye and mouth area when using this as it might irritate.

Skin toner - again quite zingy on application to the skin but I felt like my skin tightened and firmed up (in a good way) after using this and pores seemed less visible. It also improved the redness and inflammation of blemishes and spots.

Skin moisturiser lotion - lovely and light to use and absorbed quickly into my skin. I noticed an improvement on blemishes and redness after a couple of days and after using the whole range for 2 weeks my skin is improving.

I think this is a great range to try if you have troubled skin and are also looking for a more natural skincare range. It’s all dermatologically tested and has no parabens or SLS and with the added anti-ageing properties I think this is a great all rounder!

(Note: I did top this up with some SPF 15 each day to protect my skin when outside.)

Laura Mercier: NEW Tone Perfecting Eye Gel Creme

Hello BeautyBoosters!

Hope you’re well! I recently started using Laura Mercier’s Tone Perfecting Eye Gel Creme and wanted to share my thoughts on it. First off, I’m a big fan of Laura Mercier’s range of products - beautiful packaging and really great for perfectionists like myself!

This eye gel cream feels incredibly nourishing on application. It doesn’t sink in right away but I actually liked this as you only need to use a small amount for it to go a long way. It instantly felt cooling and soothing on my undereye area and after a couple of weeks use I’ve definitely noticed an improvement. My skin texture is better, the darkness has decreased (yay no more slapping on so much concealer) and it’s less puffy in the mornings. I have found that I prefer to use it at night rather than on mornings as like I mentioned earlier it took a while to absorb in and work it’s magic (but then I am a hurricane in the mornings rushing around so perhaps that’s my impatience at fault!)  I still have lots to last me so will update this post when I’ve used this tub for a more in depth review! Suffice to say though, at this point I am very impressed!

Rihanna ‘Where Have You Been’ makeup: Kabuki

Happy Friday BeautyBoosters! Hope you’ve had a great week and are looking forward to the long weekend (in the UK at least!)

I had to blog about Rihanna’s INCREDIBLE makeup in her latest video ‘Where Have You Been’ created by the visionary MUA Kabuki. The eyebrows, the gold mask, the winged smokey eyes, the fantastical talons - I could go on forever! Kabuki also created the amazing looks for Katy Perry’s E.T video (check out for some major inspiration!)

I’m going to be trying some of these looks myself over the weekend and will be posting my results so stay tuned! x
